It’s quite a surprise, considering the diminutive size of the Kunos team and how much work is still to do on EVO. At the same time, the official Assetto Corsa social media channels posted “We’re not done with Competizione yet.”
With this in mind, here are five elements we’d like to see added, or improved upon, within ACC.
Newer Circuit de Spa Francorchamps Layout
The undulating Belgian grand prix venue is also part of Competizione’s roster. Except, it is embarrassingly out of date.
With other sim racing platforms like iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and the upcoming Project Motor Racing featuring much newer versions of the venue, it is long overdue for a refresh. The present-day iteration features more gravel, like on the outside of La Source, and a reprofiled Speaker’s Corner, among other tweaks.
What may help facilitate this opportunity is that the developer has just created a new version of Spa for Assetto Corsa EVO. It has the necessary track scans to hand, so on paper, it could transplant this into the older Competizione too.
Fixing the Laguna Seca Pit Bug
Unfortunately, during multiplayer races, there is a bug that sometimes causes the server to crash should a driver visit the Laguna Seca pitlane. That’s not ideal. Consequently, it means the challenging US circuit is often omitted from competitive online racing.
So, if the developers are about to create new content for the sim, we hope they also have the time to address some long-standing problems.
2025-Season Liveries
Competizione is a popular GT-car racing simulator, but it is also the official game of the GT World Challenge championships. Run by SRO, the real-world cars, driver names and liveries make up ACC’s roster.
Except that the last time they were updated was for last season, with the current season’s designs still not present.
If Kunos decides to return to work on the title, we think these updated paint schemes will be the most likely addition.
“Competizione is still appreciated by the community, but being a title that is strictly connected with a championship [SRO’s GT World Challenge], not updating the seasons or liveries is a bit like playing today an older Formula 1 game like F1 23 or F1 24,” said Massarutto.
Facelifited BMW M3 GT3 Evo

In those GT World Challenge events, the BMW was upgraded to ‘Evo’ specification for 2025. Only the older version of the M4 GT3 is in Competizione so far, but the real-world revisions include new front and rear lights alongside revised suspension systems.
As it is not an entirely new model, but rather a derivative of the existing in-game model, that should lower the barriers for updating it. It would also match the current season's livery designs, should they be added as well.
New Cars

These seem like more of a stretch than the updated BMW, as they require significant work. However, if ACC were updated to match present-day GT3 racing, then several models are missing.
Like the latest evolution of the Aston Martin Vantage, and unlike the BMW mentioned above, its front facia and aerodynamic setup have been completely changed; it’s more work than just adding new light designs.
Then there’s the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which is competing this year in some SRO-sanctioned events, but isn’t present in any form within Competizione yet. It would help complete the set, but perhaps updated tracks and bug fixes are more pertinent.
